Vocal Play Lab School Assembly Experience

Get ready for a high-energy, interactive musical experience that invites students to use their voices in a whole new way! Vocal Play Lab school assemblies are part concert, part workshop, and all play. Through rhythm games, call and response, body percussion, and spontaneous music-making, students learn that music isn’t just something we consume—it’s something we create.

This assembly is designed to uplift, engage, and empower students of all ages. We break down the myth that only some people are “musical” and invite every student—whether shy or outgoing—to participate in a judgment-free environment where all sounds are welcome.

With voice play as our guide, we explore themes of:

— Self-expression and confidence

— Teamwork and deep listening

— Joy through movement and sound

— Embracing mistakes as part of learning

No instruments required—just open ears, curious minds, and a willingness to play.

Assemblies can be tailored for elementary or middle school audiences and adapted for different time lengths and group

Our Teaching Philosophy with Young Learners

At Vocal Play Lab we don't believe in perfect notes- we believe in bold ones. We know that young children learn best to play, movement and wonder. That's why we meet them where they are: on the floor, in the circle, with hands clapping and voices ringing.

Our classes are rooted in the idea that every child is musical. We simply create the space for that music to unfold. There's no pressure to perform, no judgment, no “ right way” to sing -  just an invitation to explore sound, rhythm and expression in a way that feels joyful and safe.

We encourage risk-taking, celebrate mistakes and eelight in the little sparks that happen when a child finds their own voice.  because when a child feels heard they shine.
