Vocal Play Lab Young Learner, Family & Adult Programs
At Vocal Play Lab, we believe music should feel like play. Our classes are joyful, interactive and full of imagination - designed to nurture creativity, confidence and connection from the inside out. We don't just teach songs, we invite everyone to create their own. Whether we're exploring instruments, echoing sounds, or composing group rhythms, everyone is encouraged to experiment and express themselves freely.

Our Teaching Philosophy with Young Learners
At Vocal Play Lab we don't believe in perfect notes- we believe in bold ones. We know that young children learn best to play, movement and wonder. That's why we meet them where they are: on the floor, in the circle, with hands clapping and voices ringing.
Our classes are rooted in the idea that every child is musical. We simply create the space for that music to unfold. There's no pressure to perform, no judgment, no “ right way” to sing - just an invitation to explore sound, rhythm and expression in a way that feels joyful and safe.
We encourage risk-taking, celebrate mistakes and eelight in the little sparks that happen when a child finds their own voice. because when a child feels heard they shine.
“ This was the highlight of our summer! My child came home singing, smiling and teaching us what they learned!”
Meet Heather Rene
Heather Rene is a seasoned vocalist with over 40 years of experience in teaching, directing, arranging, and guiding singers of all kinds to unlock their fullest potential. Throughout her career, she has cultivated a passion for helping individuals discover the power and freedom in their voices, regardless of their background or experience.
With a deep commitment to exploring the stories we tell ourselves about our voices, Heather encourages vocalists to challenge societal judgments about singing and embrace it as a playful, creative energy. She believes that singing is not only an artistic expression but also a tool for healing, and she loves to guide her students through the process of exploring their voices with curiosity and joy.
Through circle singing, vocal improvisation, and a focus on embodiment, Heather creates a safe and supportive space where participants can experiment, expand their abilities, and attune to the present moment. Her teaching emphasizes the importance of both listening and singing, helping singers develop dual focus as they connect with each other in harmony.
Heather is passionate about helping people heal from the limiting stories they may have internalized about their voices and embrace spontaneous, joyful expression. She is dedicated to creating spaces where voices are free to play, grow, and express the soul’s truest desires.
